A couple of years ago Obama gave 140 billion dollars to the IMF without Congressional authorization. He said it was his prerogative to do so. This was in the WSJ:

I predicted then that this guy was going to cost us trillions of dollars.
He's not done yet. Not only does he want to redistribute American money to Americans, but to the entire world. Why is he doing this? How much longer are we going to let him do this?

Kirby,
A three year old WSJ op-ed?! Seriously? This is supposed to be something new added to the conversation? Any chance you've searched for followup? Any chance you've wondered why there are zero comments on this op-ed?
I didn't think so...
If Obama is merely incompetent he should step down, and say he's sorry, that he thought he was qualified to run the country, but since he's damaged our credit, he's now going to let Joe Biden finish out his term. I think this would be respectable. But I don't think he really cares about the country.
I ask myself: who has done more harm to the country: Osama or Obama?
I think it's surely Obama. Why is this? I think it's because he's been entrusted to captain the ship, but is either trying to dash it on the shoals, or is just unable to understand what he should do.
He has no respect for law and order. His treatment of Officer Crowley reveals this.
I think he is like the little kid that punched Houdini. Houdini didn't know the punch was coming, and he died. America will die if it continues to trust Obama.
He's either incompetent or else he's an actual terrorist.
Or maybe it's something else. I just don't understand this.
Kirby,
I think it's surely Obama. Why is this?
Because your partisanship has blinded you to reality.
I feel quite uncertain as to whether Obama really loves America. I think he's going to break our hearts entirely. I often think of this song:

Though I don't know the details of the financial commitment which was reported, my impression is that certain elements of the political community have begun to pressure the IMF to function as a kind of foreign aid mechanism, "loaning" money to countries which have great needs, but little collateral.
The IMF has been criticized for putting debtor nations into a state of permanent obligation, unable to crawl out of their holes. The original purpose of the IMF was to assist nations that were short on cash to fund economic progress, but the reality has seldom matched the intent.
Like the UN, the IMF has depended to an inordinate degree on the largesse of American contributions. It may be that conservatives now view the IMF as an unjustified use of our revenue. The more we get in debt, the harder it is to justify any kind of foreign aid.
The IMF is under the aegis of the UN, according to what I understand. It's an arm of the UN. I'm not sure how much money the US is putting into the UN altogether. Obama is apparently forgiving loans from places like Brazil. He's all heart.
This is all mixed up with his college career, and the debts he compiled to his professors (some of whom were Brazilian Marxists).
Or so I fear.
I think he's all autobiography.
I wish it wasn't so.
I have no idea what's going on down there. Rove is saying that it's amateur hour.
Bush was a goofball (Bush 2) but he had his dad, and other serious people around to help him.
Obama's dead was a complete kook. His mom was even weirder and crazier than the dad. He had a strange friend of the family named Frank Marshall Davis who was a flat-out communist sex freak of some kind. It's not clear he ever really grew up around normal sensible people, much less people who were used to leading nations.
This is a very scary time.
I wish Obama would step down. If I were in his shoes, I'd step down. Almost anyone would be an improvement. Biden would be an enormous improvement.
